Adapters Supported --------------------- This package supports the following Madge Token-Ring adapters: 100/16/4 Smart PCI MK4 part number 51-05 Smart PCI MK4 Low Profile part number 51-05 16/4 RapidFire 3140 V2 part number 3140 2010 RapidFire 3140 V2 Low Profile part number 31-04 2. Installing the Package ------------------------- a) Log into your HP-UX system as "root". b) Run the configure script which provides support for lanscan and landamin. 3. Configuration and Unconfiguration ------------------------------------ a)Dynamic loading --------------- For loading the driver dynamically run the following commands in the token4 directory, 1. kminstall -d token4 2. kminstall -a token4 3. kmsystem -c Y -l Y token4 4. config -M token4 -u 5. kmadmin -L token4 6. ioscan 7. Assign the IP using ifconfig command For unloading the driver dynamically run the following commands in the bin directory, 1. Bring the interface down with ifconfig command. 2. kmadmin -U token4 (This will bring the driver down but the driver will be configured with the kernel) OR kminstall -d token4 (complete removal of the driver) b)Static loading -------------- For loading the driver statically run the following commands in the bin directory, 1. kminstall -d token4 2. kminstall -a token4 3. kmsystem -c Y -l N token4 4. config -u /stand/system 5. kmupdate /stand/build/vmunix_test 6. reboot 7. Assign the IP using ifconfig command after the system reboots For unloading the driver statically run the following commands in the bin directory, 1. Bring the interface down with ifconfig command. 2. kminstall -d token4 3. config -u /stand/system 4. reboot 4.
